District 13 September Meeting

Shipmates,
Congratulations to our Division Commander Brad Schuldt. Brad stepped up and was elected as our District Captain for 2013.

Flotilla 66 member Dean Wimer was elected as District Commodore for the 2013-14 term. Congratulations Commodore Wimer! COMO Wimer has a strong vision for the District, building on the work he and COMO Raiswell have undertaken together over the last two years.

Flotilla 19 member Richard Coons was elected Chief of Staff for the 2013-14 term. I've worked with Richard as a member of EXCOM and he is an outstanding Auxiliarist and leader.

As I was crossing the 205 bridge on my way home from school today, I heard a call to the Coast Guard about a possible person in the water at Lady Island.

As the Command Center was trying to piece things together and notify vessels in the area, an all familiar voice came over that radio. Ken Babick and 173 was in route to the possible person in the water and that they would notify the Command Center when at Lady Island. 

B.Z. 173, you are always counted on during the weekend to respond to these SAR cases. You help keep the boating public safe as well as assist the boater in distress.
